I am thinking about acquiring a scanner for work. I am just wondering what your experiences are. Anyone have experience with the SARA or Pearl from FS? I have also heard of the iPal. Anyone have any suggestions on these, or on any other possibilities? Thanks.

I personally prefer openbook. and I've also used fine reader but I like openbook better since I liked the expression of it's own voice.

fine reader has no self-voice, though.

Raaj.

I have had great success with the pearl. I have set up probably a dozen clients up with one in various settings with no complaints. This is Moore than I can say for my few placements of the eye pal.

I quite like my HP all-in-one! As for OCR, I personally prefer Kurzweil, but Open Book is pretty good, too. the only reason I prefer Kurzweil is that the recognition is usually at least 95% accurate, and if it's any less, the program warns you. As far as I'm aware, Open Book doesn't do this.
